What Pool Brain does well
Pool Brain is a solid pool service platform. Its official site documents routing, quotes and jobs, built-in billing and payments, chemical history and costs, and a technician app; it also describes an optional QuickBooks Online integration for accounting. For a service company whose books live in QuickBooks and whose work is mostly recurring service, that's a workable combination.
Where SPOD's story differs
Swimming Pool On Demand is built for the company that runs service, remodels and new construction from the same office — and wants the back office on a phone, not just the technician's stop. The shape of it:
- Phone-first company admin. Manage customers, products and pricing, staff and settings, and schedules from a phone — not just the field app.
- One shared customer record. Routes, quotes, agreements, invoices, chemistry, photos and the owner app all read and write the same pool.
- Route & day together. Recurring service stops and one-time repair tickets on one technician's day.
- Branded repair & remodel PDFs. Proposals and remodel quotes generated from the customer record as polished documents (Business Premier).
- Agreements that sign and bill. A rep initials and signs, the customer reviews and signs the last page, the signed PDF and audit trail are filed, and the first scheduled invoice is generated on signing (Business Premier).
- Team time and pay, in view. Timesheets and GPS clock events (clock-in at the office, clock-out at the last stop or office), salary or hourly pay information, and 401(k)/medical/life benefits tracking — organized alongside the business. This is visibility and organization, not wage disbursement or payroll tax filing.
- Costs inside Premier. Chemical usage and costs plus equipment purchase and install tracking flow into the accounting expense view — revenue, expenses and P&L in one platform.
- Optional AI, not mandatory. Premier AI is an optional add-on ($30/tech) for voice entry and field guidance; it's not required to use the platform.

SPOD pricing, plainly
Swimming Pool On Demand is $79/mo for Service Essentials (2 staff) or $149/mo for Business Premier (5 staff, with e-sign, branded proposals, inspections and accounting); extra staff are $15/mo each. Pool Brain's pricing is calculator-based, so we won't invent a number — run your counts through Pool Brain's calculator and compare with SPOD's published pricing for your team size.
A stepwise company migration
Moving from Pool Brain is a manual, verifiable migration — plan it, test it, then cut over:
- Export customers, routes and history from Pool Brain (CSV where available).
- Check staff permissions and plan how Admin/Manager/Technician roles map across.
- Inventory client records and fields — address, gate code, pool type, equipment, billing terms — and check CSV column compatibility with the SPOD import.
- Rebuild routes and reassign stops; import a small subset first and verify.
- Manually archive historic attachments (photos, signed PDFs) where the export doesn't carry them.
- Pick a payment cutover at a billing-cycle boundary so a customer isn't billed twice. Saved payment cards are not transferred automatically.
There is no direct Pool Brain connector and we don't promise automatic import of every historical document or zero downtime. Plan a migration you can test and roll back.
Coming next — not a differentiator today
A few SPOD capabilities are still being built and aren't reasons to switch yet: an AI Receptionist that answers in your company's name and drafts proposals for your approval (Coming next); sensor sync for compatible water-testing equipment (In development); and a paid phone-based AI technician line (Coming next). Evaluate those against your roadmap, not as live features.
Frequently asked questions
Does Swimming Pool On Demand do what Pool Brain does for routing and billing?
SPOD covers recurring routes and scheduling, service tickets, quotes, built-in billing and payments, and chemical history and costs — the core Pool Brain documents. It adds phone-first company admin, e-signed agreements with a first-invoice flow, a per-customer File Cabinet, and basic accounting on Business Premier.
Do I have to use SPOD's accounting instead of QuickBooks?
No. Business Premier includes basic accounting (revenue, expenses and P&L) in-platform; you can also export by CSV for your accountant. SPOD does not replace full professional accounting or tax filing.
Can I move my customers over from Pool Brain?
Subject to CSV field compatibility, yes — import customers by CSV, test a small subset first, and manually archive historical attachments the export doesn't carry. There is no direct Pool Brain connector and saved payment cards are not transferred automatically.
What about staff time and pay information?
SPOD tracks timesheets and GPS clock events (clock in at the office, clock out at the last stop or office), salary or hourly pay information, and benefits tracking — for visibility and organization, not wage disbursement or payroll tax filing.
